Ni participation in the magnetism of Fe-Ni-Si-B amorphous alloys.
1987
$^{61}\mathrm{Ni}$ M\"ossbauer measurements at 4.2 K have been performed on (${\mathrm{Fe}}_{\mathrm{x}}$${\mathrm{Ni}}_{1\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}\mathrm{x}}$${)}_{77}$${\mathrm{Si}}_{1013}$ amorphous alloys with x=0.0, 0.1, and 0.9. Ni atoms in ${\mathrm{Ni}}_{77}$${\mathrm{Si}}_{10}$${\mathrm{B}}_{13}$ bear no magnetic moment, whereas in (${\mathrm{Fe}}_{0.1}$${\mathrm{Ni}}_{0.9}$${)}_{77}$${\mathrm{Si}}_{10}$${\mathrm{B}}_{13}$ and (${\mathrm{Fe}}_{0.9}$${\mathrm{Ni}}_{0.1}$${)}_{77}$${\mathrm{Si}}_{10}$${\mathrm{B}}_{13}$ their moments are, respectively 0.38${\ensuremath{\mu}}_{B}$ and 0.65${\ensuremath{\mu}}_{B}$. Our results, together with the literature data, show that Ni atoms in Fe-…
Density functional theory based screening of ternary alkali-transition metal borohydrides: a computational material design project.
2009
We present a computational screening study of ternary metal borohydrides for reversible hydrogen storage based on density functional theory. We investigate the stability and decomposition of alloys containing 1 alkali metal atom, Li, Na, or K M1; and 1 alkali, alkaline earth or 3d / 4d transition metal atom M2 plus two to five BH4 groups, i.e., M1M2BH42‐5, using a number of model structures with trigonal, tetrahedral, octahedral, and free coordination of the metal borohydride complexes. Of the over 700 investigated structures, about 20 were predicted to form potentially stable alloys with promising decomposition energies. The M1Al/ Mn/ FeBH44, Li/ NaZnBH43, and Na/ KNi/ CoBH43 alloys are …
Design and manufacturing feasibility of ITER TBM Frame and Dummy TBMs
2016
Abstract The operation and test of mock-ups of tritium breeding blankets relevant for a future commercial reactor is one of the goals of the ITER machine. To accomplish this goal, mock-ups of breeding blankets, called Test Blanket Modules (TBMs), are installed in three ITER equatorial ports. Each TBM and the associated shield form a TBM-set that is mechanically attached to a steel frame called TBM Frame. A Frame and two TBM-Sets form a TBM Port Plug (TBM PP). The ITER Organization is responsible for the design and manufacture of the TBM Frames and of the Dummy TBMs that could replace the TBM-sets in case they were not available. This paper describes the recent results of the design supporti…
Preparation of Heusler thin films: The quaternary alloy CO2Fe0.5Mn0.5Si
2008
In this work the basic strategies for the preparation of CO2Mn0.5Fe0.5Si as an example for Heusler alloy thin films will be described. Texture and magnetic properties of these films will be discussed, especially with regard to different buffer layers and annealing temperatures. Finally, we will show the integration of Heusler thin films into magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) and calculate the effective spin polarization. (c) 2008 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim
High Temperature Corrosion Behaviour of Coated F17Ti Stainless Steel
1997
